CANTINA GIBA
Cantina Giba, located in the Sulcis region, reflects the unique terroir of this area in the quality of its wines. To achieve this, the winery uses single-variety vinification for both Carignano and Vermentino. The winery operates three distinct production lines:
The Giba line, The 6 Mura line, and the special reserve line, Sei Più.
With 30 hectares of vineyards, Giba produces about 100,000 bottles per year and is among the 10% of European wineries utilizing Piede Franco (ungrafted vines). Some of Giba's vines are over 100 years old, resulting in low-yield plants that contribute to the complexity and depth of the wines. Andres Garcia Blas, a native of Spain, began his career as an oenologist in his home country and brings a unique perspective to his winemaking. He has since become a well-known and highly respected producer of Carignano del Sulcis.
