CASCINA CASTLÈT
A project, a dream, and a deep-rooted legacy—Cascina Castlèt is more than a winery; it’s a continuation of centuries-old heritage on the hills of Costigliole d’Asti, one of Piemonte’s most storied winegrowing regions. Owned by the Borio family for generations, the estate is now led by the dynamic and visionary Mariuccia Borio, who inherited the land from her father in 1970 and has spent the last five decades blending tradition, creativity, and innovation.
Today, the estate spans 31 hectares of vineyards, planted almost exclusively to local grapes—Barbera, Moscato, Uvalino, and Nebbiolo—as well as Cabernet Sauvignon and the historic Chardonnay, first introduced here in the late 18th century by Marquis Filippo Asinari of San Marzano, a neighbor and pioneering figure in Italian viticulture.
Mariuccia is known not just for her dedication to the land but for her bold artistic flair. Cascina Castlèt’s wines wear their identity with confidence—through expressive labels, imaginative names, and storytelling that invites drinkers into their world. Wines like Passum, Policalpo, Avié, and Litina are more than just bottles; they’re chapters in a personal and regional history.
The philosophy here is rooted in respect—for the earth, the people who work it, and the cultural richness of Piemonte. The Borio family’s ties to the region date back to at least 1198, with a documented oath of loyalty to the Free Commune of Costigliole. Their crest, chapels, and carved artworks still mark the landscape and local history.
At Cascina Castlèt, every bottle is a blend of ethics, creativity, and tradition—crafted for those who love beautiful things, good things, and wines that make them dream.
