Wine Profile
Wine Profile / Tasting Notes
Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Piaggia is the most exclusive Brunello from Abbadia Ardenga. The wine has a complex but elegant character that manages to enhance the qualities of the Sangiovese grape. The Vigna Piagga vineyard with its perfect south-west facing position has the optimal conditions to create a wine with great personality and balance. Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Piaggia has intense aromas of red fruits, wild berries, light spices and a touch of balsamic. The wine is full-bodied with a warm and harmonious finish that lingers in the mouth.
Vineyard Notes
"Vigna Piaggia", south-west exposition. Average yield: 50 quintals/Ha
Production Notes
After the fermentation in stainless steel tanks lasting 18 days, the wine is transferred to Slavonian oak barrels where it spends 36 months. After that is moved for 12 more months in stainless steel tanks to rest and reintegrate and, in the end the refinement is completed with 12 final months of bottle aging.
Winemaker Notes
This wine is the most complex and elegant expression of the Sangiovese grape variety. It is produced with the grapes from the vineyard “Piaggia”. The excellent exposure and exceptional pedoclimate lend this wine great personality and balance.
Food & Wine Pairing
For every moment of relaxation and meditation. Perfect with grilled meat, middle-seasoned cheeses and truffle.
