Winemaker Notes
Aglianico “alli-yawn-nico” is a full-bodied red wine which is found almost exclusively in Southern Italy, mostly in the regions of Campania and Basilicata. Young Aglianico wines are known for strikingly savory flavors of leather, white pepper, black fruits and cured meat that when aged, develop soft dusty aromas of dried figs and sun-tanned leather. For those of us who are a fan of rustic, earth-driven wines, Aglianico is a star.
Food & Wine Pairing
Sliced meats, soups and pasta dishes. Wonderful with white meat dishes. Try it with dark chocolate too!
Other Notes
Vigna dei Lupi was born in 2007 from a group of friends’ desire to invest time and resources into a project of excellence, unique for its quality and image. The winery is located in the Avellino province (Campania region – South of Italy). The estate extends for twelve hectares (from which the winery names “DODICIETTARI”), of which nine planted with grapevines.
