Wine Profile / Tasting Notes
Falanghina, the signature white wine of Campania, produces zesty wines with peach fruit, minerals, and almond notes. The Dodiciettari Falanghina is straw yellow with typical green reflections. Intense bouquet of white flowers, citrus blossoms and fruit such as lemon and peach with notes of honey and a typical almondy finish. Fresh and balanced on the palate with a very mineral aftertaste.
Vineyard Notes
Vineyard location: Montemiletto in Avellino. Soil type: clay. Altitude: 500 meters above sea level. Training system: Guyot. Density: 3.500 plants per hectare. Production: 7.0 tonnes per hectare.
Production Notes
Maceration and fermentation at controlled temperatures 22°/25° for 21–25 days. Minimum 7 months of refinement in stainless steel before release.
Winemaker Notes
The name of the grape Falanghina derives from Falernina, for his great diffusion in Ager Falernus. Were probably the Roman merchants to bring in Italy this grape from Greece, spreading the cultivation to the Centre and the South. The first written mention of a grape that name dates back to 1804; It is found later in the work of his father’s former provincial agriculture Niccola Columella honored that fits between the grapes Falanghina “good to eat”. n the 20th century the Falanghina begins to be considered among the best Italian grape varieties and cultivation is recommended to improve the production of the main wine-growing areas of the South.

Vigna dei Lupi was born in 2007 from a group of friends’ desire to invest time and resources into a project of excellence, unique for its quality and image. The winery is located in the Avellino province (Campania region – South of Italy). The estate extends for twelve hectares (= “DODICIETTARI”), of which nine planted with grapevines.
