Sometimes size does matter… a big wine in a big bottle is simply a GRIGLIATA (BBQ party) waiting to happen.

Wine Profile
Wine Profile / Tasting Notes
Ruby red verging on garnet. Ample and ethereal scent with hints of wild berries. On the palate it is full-bodied, warm, intense, velvety and harmonious
Vineyard Notes
Vineyard location: The vineyards on the Abbadia Ardenga estate situated on the Sienese slope of the hill of Montalcino. South-west exposure. The average yield is 50 quintals/Ha
Production Notes
The fermentation happens in stainless steel talks, at controlled temperature for a period of 18 days. After that the wine is aged for 36 months in Slavonian oak barrels followed by 12 months and stainless steel thanks and 12 months in the bottle.
Winemaker Notes
This wine is the most representative of our estate and reflects the bond that exists between the Sangiovese grape variety and the Montalcino territory. The marly soil rich in mineral salts lends this wine its characteristic aroma and structure.
Food & Wine Pairing
Pairs well with all the typical, savory dishes of the traditional Tuscan cuisine, especially red meats, roasts and ripe cheeses.
Other Notes
Abbadia Ardenga, a winery which is part of the history of Brunello di Montalcino, is extremely special and definitely worth visiting, not only for its products but also for its outstanding charm. The estate has a very long history, having once belonged to the powerful Piccolomini family, whose members included Pope Pius II, responsible for the construction of the town of Pienza, a masterpiece of the Renaissance.
