A merlot like none other... the velvet and full body of this wine comes from the great care and veronese technique applied. Who knew a merlot could bring leather, truffles and licorice to the party?

Wine Profile
Wine Profile / Tasting Notes
A very special Merlot made with dried-out grapes. With an intense ruby red color, this wine is velvety with notes of ripe red fruits and hints of leather, truffles and liquorice. Full- bodied and rich with great balance. A wine for those who would prefer one memorable bottle of wine to a bottle bank full of amnesia

Vineyard Notes
SOIL TYPE: Gravelly and sandy soil of medium density located in vineyards on the valley floor. TRAINING SYSTEM: Pergola and Guyot. Yield: 5 tons per hectare.
Production Notes
3.000 bottle produced. Hand harvested during the first fortnight of September. The grapes are hung by hand to dry on wires for 80 days, the traditional technique of this region for "appassimento". The grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures and then left to refine in French oak barrels for 12-15 months.
Winemaker Notes
Merlot was planted in the Orgno vineyard in 1978 as we wanted to see if our land, traditionally used to produce white wines, was also able to produce red wines of great quality. We were happy with the results: Merlot worked well in our area but we decided to wait 10 years before releasing it on the market so that it would reach the levels of quality that we demand.
Food & Wine Pairing
"Orgno" is perfect with grilled or braised meats, game and pasta dishes with rich sauces. It is also excellent with mature cheeses. It can be enjoyed with food or at the end of a meal accompanied by a cigar.
